The establishment of a society lies at the heart of our professionalisation model. The society would take over the competency maps from CDA and would be the governing body for accredited education and commercial training in Petroleum Data Management. It would also perhaps be the certifying body for competency.
We have conducted an online survey on this topic (the survey is still open – see https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MDJ762N) and we will publish the analysis at the end of August.
We are currently working with one of the strong candidates which wishes to be this professional organisation in order to satisfy ourselves that it is a good home for the competencies we have developed. This work is on-going but it’s something we’re pursuing with some urgency.
Addax Petroleum and Statoil UK Ltd are the latest Members to join the CDA Seismic DataStore and a warm welcome to them.
CDA carried out two successful training sessions for DataStore users in London and Aberdeen during June for 51 users. The sessions covered both standard and new functionality which have been added to the system as part of a programmed series of enhancements. For further information about training please contact Raye McRitchie ([email protected]).
Today CDA has launched a Survey to establish the level and nature of support of an independent professional society for data managers. This is an integral part of our general programme to gain professional standing for data management and data managers.
We would be most grateful if you could please complete the survey launched today by using the link shown below as soon as you can – it will take no more than 10 minutes of your time.
Thank you very much in advance for your support.
