CDA, representing sponsors Chevron, Shell, and Total, has been working with academic institutions to set up education at Masters level. The first such programme is offered by the University of Aberdeen, which commenced in September 2018.
Two modes of delivery are available: Full-time on campus and Part-time online.
The syllabus will cover techniques for the management of subsurface data, including well, geophysical, reservoir, and spatial data, and implications for data science and analytics; considerations on data quality, data governance, and legal and security aspects; service and project management; and a final project and dissertation to be carried out by each student.
The next intake of the full-time and part-time programme is in September 2019.
