The data packages include over 120 Gigabytes of well logs, data for released 3D seismic surveys, relinquishment reports and promotional technical montages. The data covers considerable unlicensed acreage in the Outer Moray Firth, supporting the OGA’s 2019 Supplementary Licence Round and new Area Plan to maximise economic recovery in the Greater Buchan area.
Malcolm Fleming, CDA’s Chief Executive, said: “CDA has worked closely with the OGA over many years to deepen and broaden the available information relating to the UKCS and we hope this latest data release encourages exploration of the Greater Buchan Area in the North Sea.
New discoveries are critical to assure the future of the basin, and wider access to data, and new ways of interpreting it, are playing an increasingly important role in the industry.”
The data may be accessed through www.ukoilandgasdata.com. Packages smaller than 20 GB in size may be downloaded free of charge, while larger datasets may be ordered on media. Further information about the Supplementary Licensing Round and summary of the available data is available from the OGA website.
